Privacy policy
We collect as little as possible, share it with no one beyond the services that run this site, and never sell it. Effective September 9, 2026.
Who we are
Braintree Community Food Pantry, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 04-3466961) at 14 Storrs Ave #2, Braintree, MA 02184. Questions about this policy: contact us or call 781-277-1609.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email, and message, used only to reply.
- Clients: name, contact details, household size, and appointment history, so we can schedule your monthly visit and send confirmations and reminders.
- Donors: name, contact details, and giving history, so we can send receipts, thank-you letters, and year-end tax letters.
- Pledges: what you offered to donate and when you plan to drop it off.
What we deliberately never store
Eligibility is confirmed in a private, in-person conversation with our counselor. We record only that residency was verified and on what date — never income information, leases, identity documents, or benefit details. They are not requested through this website and cannot be stored in our system.
Payments
Online donations are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own secure checkout page. Your card number never touches our servers; we receive only the confirmation needed to record your gift and send a receipt.
Analytics on public pages
To understand how visitors use our public pages we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (with its strictest text-masking setting). These tools set cookies on public pages only — they are never loaded on sign-in, client, donor, or staff pages, so your activity there is never visible to any analytics or session-replay tool. To opt out, use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on and standard cookie controls in your browser.
Cookies
Signed-in pages use a single session cookie that keeps you signed in; it contains no personal information and expires when your session ends. Analytics cookies appear on public pages only, as described above.
Our helpers and the phone line
The "Questions?" helper on this site and the ask-a-question option on our phone line answer from the pantry's own information using a service from Anthropic. Don't include personal details in those questions — for anything personal, call us directly. Our phone line is operated through Twilio.
Who we share with
No one, except the service providers that operate this site on our behalf — hosting (Heroku/Salesforce), email delivery (Twilio SendGrid), payments (Stripe), and the analytics and helper services above — each only to do its job. We never sell, rent, or trade your information, and we never share client information with donors or anyone else.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you — contact us or call. We keep donation records as long as tax law requires.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children through it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will be noted on the home page.
