Our Mission

Our mission is to serve with compassion and dignity, offering support and encouragement to Braintree residents in need. As a faith-based 501(c)(3) pantry rooted in the teachings of Jesus, we are guided by His command to “feed my sheep” (John 21:17). Through our ministry we strive to reflect God’s love by alleviating hunger, easing hardship, and walking alongside our neighbors with hope and grace.

About Us

The seeds of Braintree Community Food Pantry were planted in the 1980s when our founding president, Agnes Lynch, and her family faced the hardship of job loss and financial insecurity. From their personal experiences came the vision of a food pantry to serve the people of Braintree, a vision realized through prayer and community support.

Since our founding we have grown from serving 720 individuals our first year to feeding over 3,000 people annually. Despite this growth we have remained true to our roots, a Christ-centered ministry run entirely by volunteers sustained by faith, prayer, and the generosity of others.

When Agnes Lynch retired, Dawn Enos, whose parents were longtime volunteers, felt called to the mission. Dawn now serves as president and executive director and serves alongside her daughter, Alyssa, and many faithful volunteers, including her father who remains an active board member to this day.

The food pantry is governed by a board of directors whose work is guided by faith and commitment to serving others. Every person involved, from president to those handing out bags, is a volunteer. This means that all donations, except for minimal expenses, go directly to those in need.
